Benevolent Care and Services

As seniors are enjoying extended longevity, even with the best of planning, many find themselves outliving the resources they had so carefully saved. From its very beginning, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America has been committed to supporting its residents who outlived their financial resources through special giving opportunities. Today, PMMA continues to bridge the gap for residents who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own.

Contributions to the Good Samaritan Program make it possible for residents to continue to live at their PMMA community, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2016, more than 330 residents living in Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s assisted living and health care neighborhoods are supported in some way through the Good Samaritan Benevolent Care Program. This equates to more than $6.8 million a year in unreimbursed care and services.

PMMA conducts two special appeals annually to support this program. The Mother’s Day Tribute is conducted in April and May. The Angel Appeal is done in mid-November through the holidays.

You can support the Good Samaritan Program directly by giving online or participating in one of the many Good Samaritan Program fundraisers at your local PMMA community. Through our online giving, you can designate your gift for the benefit of a particular PMMA community.

Supporting the Music & Memory SM program

You can help Salina Presbyterian Manor grow our Music & Memory SM program through financial donations or donations of iPods, headphones and iTunes cards. The Music & MemorySM program brings personalized music into the lives of seniors through digital music technology to improve quality of life. Grounded in extensive neuroscience research about how our brains respond to music, tested and proven in hundreds of long-term care communities throughout the U.S. and Canada, this personalized music system has provided therapeutic benefits for thousands of residents, clients and staff.

For more information about how to help grow our program, contact RaShelle Hensley, social services director, at 785-825-1366, or click to donate now. Select our campus from the drop-down menu and type “Music & Memory” in the area designated to specify the program you wish to support.
