Physician to speak about Alzheimer’s Disease at free event

How can I know if my loved one is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia? What does that mean? What does the future look like? These and other questions will be answered at a free presentation Nov. 9 at Salina Presbyterian Manor.
Retired Salina physician Dr. Dirk Hutchinson will share basics of Alzheimer’s disease and hope for the future living with Alzheimer’s at “Alzheimer’s: Overview and Hope for the Future.” Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Hutchinson spent his career caring for seniors. Following is retirement from private practice, he served as medical director for the rehabilitation program at Salina Regional Health Center before retiring at the end of 2016.
“Alzheimer’s: Overview and Hope for the Future” will begin at 3 p.m. Nov. 9 at Salina Presbyterian Manor, 2601 E Crawford. The presentation is free, and refreshments will be served. The talk is part of Salina Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask series, a free, ongoing lifelong learning program featuring information from local, regional and national experts on topics of interest to older adults and their families.
